Snaplay Privacy Policy
Overview
Snaplay is an iOS app for adding caption overlays to photos and videos. This policy describes how the app handles your data.
How Snaplay handles your media
Everything Snaplay does happens on your device. The app captures or imports photos and videos, lets you add caption overlays, and saves the edited result to your Photos library. Snaplay does not upload your photos, videos, audio, or captions to any server. There is no Snaplay account, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs.
iOS permissions
Snaplay requests the following iOS permissions only to perform the actions you initiate inside the app:
- Camera — to capture photos and record videos in the app.
- Microphone — to record audio when you record video.
- Photos (Add) — to save your captioned photos and videos back to your Photos library.
You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in Settings → Snaplay on your iOS device.
Face data
Snaplay does not collect, detect, recognize, analyze, store, or transmit any face data. The app does not use ARKit face tracking, the Vision framework's face-detection APIs, the LocalAuthentication framework (Face ID), or any other facial-recognition technology. Snaplay treats the camera as a generic image and video capture device only — every frame the camera produces is rendered to the on-screen preview and, if you press record, written to a local file on your device. No face landmarks, face geometry, face embeddings, or face metadata are ever computed, derived, stored, or shared.
Because Snaplay collects no face data, none is shared with third parties, none is stored on any server, and there is no retention period — there is nothing to retain.
Data sharing
Snaplay does not collect, share, sell, or transmit any user data. There is nothing for us to share because nothing leaves your device.
Children
Snaplay does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
